In and around Fes, Morocco. Rugs are knotted on upright looms from Atlas wool, leather poufs are cut and stitched by hand from hides dyed in the Fes tanneries, and tagines and tableware are thrown and glazed in the medina. Each product page names the material and the technique used.

Because it was made by hand. Colour, size, pattern and glaze all shift a little from one piece to the next — hand-dyed leather takes colour unevenly between panels, and loose fibres rise to the surface of a new wool rug for the first few weeks. This is normal for handmade goods rather than a defect. If a piece arrives genuinely faulty, it is covered by the returns policy.

Shipping is free anywhere in the United States, with no minimum order value. Smaller items travel by parcel courier and larger rugs and tables go by insured freight. Current delivery estimates are shown at checkout and set out in full in the Shipping Policy.

Yes — you have 30 days from delivery to return an item in its original condition. For larger freight items we book the collection for you. The full terms are in the Refund Policy.

Yes for several of the leather poufs and ottomans, which are made to order in sizes from 14 to 60 inches. The size options appear on the product page where they are available. If you need something outside those sizes, email support@karchel.shop and we will ask the workshop.

The cooking tagines are fired in Fes and finished with a lead-free glaze. Season a new one before first use, bring it up to temperature gradually rather than over a fierce flame, and use a heat diffuser on an electric or ceramic hob. Decorative and serving pieces are labelled as such on their product page and are not intended for cooking.
