Description
A cylindrical wall sconce cut from brass in a dense arabesque pattern, built around a central medallion. Lit, it throws a lace of shadow and light across the wall behind it; unlit, it reads as pure ornamental metalwork.
Construction
- Pierced metalwork: the pattern is cut through the brass body, not etched or printed on the surface.
- Fixed wall mount: attaches with a simple back plate — works well in pairs flanking a mirror, a headboard or a hallway.
About the piercing
Each opening in the pattern is cut individually rather than stamped as a repeating die, which is why the pierced areas do not line up in a perfectly mechanical grid when you look closely. That is a property of the manufacturing process, not a flaw.
Care
Wipe with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid liquid polish or abrasive pads on the pierced sections — they catch in the openings and are difficult to fully remove.

Care
Dust with a dry, soft cloth. Polish occasionally with a brass-safe cleaner to slow natural tarnishing, or leave it — an aged patina is normal on hand-finished brass and many people prefer it.
Do not submerge or use abrasive cleaners on the pierced shade, which will scratch the hand-cut pattern.

Pierced by hand, one pattern at a time
Each shade starts as a flat sheet of brass, marked out and pierced by hand with a fine chisel — hundreds of small cuts per shade. Lit, the pattern throws its shadow across the room; unlit, it reads as pure metalwork.

Built from solid brass rather than plated metal, so the finish does not flake or wear through. Each piece is pre-wired for a standard US plug and takes a standard E26 bulb, which is not included.
