An unstuffed Moroccan leather pouf cover in red, hand-cut and hand-stitched from genuine leather in Morocco. Ships flat as a cover only, ready for you to fill at home.
Construction
- Genuine leather: a soft, supple hide with detailing worked into the top panel.
- Versatile use: works as a footstool, a low seat around the coffee table, a floor cushion, or an extra footrest in any room.
- Concealed base zip: fill it at home with shredded foam, fabric offcuts or densely packed old clothing — materials that hold their shape under load. Avoid loose polyfill or feathers, which shift and flatten over time.
- Natural variation: hand-dyed leather takes colour unevenly, so tonal shifts between panels are normal and mark it as handmade rather than factory-run.
Care
Dust with a dry cloth. Wipe spills immediately with a barely damp cloth and let it air-dry away from direct heat. Treat with a neutral leather conditioner once or twice a year. Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight, which will fade the dye.
About the craft
Moroccan leather poufs have been made the same way for generations: skins tanned in the traditional pits, panels cut by hand, then closed with a needle rather than a machine. Karchel buys direct from the artisans who make them and ships from Morocco.

Shipping & Returns
Free shipping within the United States with no minimum order. Unfilled poufs ship flat by parcel courier, which is why they cost less to send; filled poufs travel bulkier and take a little longer to leave.
Covered by our 30-day return policy. Full delivery timings are set out in our Shipping Policy.
Care
Dust with a dry cloth. Wipe spills straight away with a barely damp cloth and let it air-dry away from direct heat — do not use soap or solvent on hand-dyed leather.
Treat with a neutral leather conditioner once or twice a year to keep the hide supple. Keep the pouf out of prolonged direct sunlight, which will fade the dye over time.
If the pouf softens after months of use, open the base zip and top up the filling rather than replacing it.
- Hand-stitched in Morocco
- 21 x 12 in (53 x 30 cm)
- Holds ~250 lb when filled
- Ships flat unfilled
- Free US shipping
How it is made
Cut, stitched and filled by hand
Six short chapters on how this pouf is made, what it is made from and how it reaches you.
Made

Cut by hand, closed with a needle
Every panel is cut to a template by hand and joined with a saddle stitch that passes through both layers of leather. It is slow work, and it is the reason the seams outlast the hide.
Materials

Full-grain goatskin, embroidered by hand
Goat hide is used because it stays supple under body weight instead of stiffening. The star medallion on the top panel is embroidered stitch by stitch over a template, which is why no two poufs line up identically.
Ways to use it

It earns its floor space four ways
A pouf is worth the room it takes up because it does more than one job.
- Under your feet, low enough to slide beneath a reading chair
- An extra seat you pull up when people arrive
- A side table once you add a flat tray
- On a covered terrace, brought in before the rain
Filled or unfilled

Choose how it arrives
Filled arrives firm and ready to sit on, but travels bulkier, so it costs more to send and takes a little longer to leave. Unfilled ships flat, which cuts the freight considerably, and you fill it through the base zip.
- Fill with shredded foam, fabric offcuts or densely packed old clothing
- Avoid loose polyfill and feathers, which settle within weeks
- Top it up through the base zip rather than replacing it
